THE UCFC Pathway

More than a tryout

Union City Football Club (UCFC) is a Manhattan-based youth soccer academy built on firsthand experience within the German elite academy system. Our mission is to provide ambitious players with a professional development pathway through structured training, player-centered coaching, and high-performance standards.

The UCFC Tryout Week is the first step toward joining our 2026/27 season. Throughout the week, players will be evaluated on their technical ability, tactical understanding, attitude, work ethic, commitment to development and overall potential.

Selected players will receive an invitation to join UCFC and become a part of our club in the season, including team training, league competition, and long-term player development programs.

The Tryout Week is more than an evaluation event — it is an opportunity to become part of a club committed to developing the next generation of players through professional standards, proven methodology, and a clear vision for the future.

The UCFC Tryout Week is designed for ambitious young players who want to challenge themselves and experience a professional training environment inspired by German academy methodology.

The program is open to players aged 6–17 of all positions who are motivated to develop their game in a structured and competitive environment.

It is especially suitable for:

  • The camp is open to players aged 6–17 who are motivated to improve their skills in a structured and competitive training environment.

  • Players can register directly through the online registration form on this website. Early registration is recommended as spots are limited.

  • The UCFC Tryout Week requires a $50 Player Evaluation Fee upon registration (includes a $10 non-refundable processing fee).

    This fee covers full participation in the Tryout Week, including all training sessions, the game day, and a professional player evaluation conducted by our coaching staff.

    If a player is selected to join Union City Football Club, the full $50 fee will be credited toward their first monthly membership payment.

    For players who decide to withdraw during the early phase of the program, the following refund policy applies:

    • Before your group's Day 1: $40 refund

    • After attending Day 1 only: $30 refund

    • After attending Day 2 or later: No refund

    This structure ensures commitment while maintaining fairness for families and allowing players to experience a professional training environment before making a final decision.

  • The program is designed for ambitious players with previous athletic and/or soccer experience, including travel team and competitive youth players who want to further develop their technical and tactical abilities.

    For younger players between ages 6–10, the program is also suitable for children with basic athletic coordination, fundamental movement skills, and natural interest or talent for the game, as the focus at this stage is on foundational motor skills, ball familiarity, and enjoyment within a structured training environment.

  • Each tryout day includes technical training, tactical exercises, small-sided games, and competitive match play, designed to create a balanced and professional training experience.

  • The camp is primarily designed for players with basic soccer experience who are motivated to challenge themselves and develop in a more competitive environment.

  • The training will take place regardless of shine or rain. In case of severe weather conditions, the schedule may be adjusted to ensure the safety of all participants.

  • Yes. To maintain a high-quality training environment and allow coaches to work closely with players, the number of participants is limited.

  • The tryout provides players with the opportunity to experience the UCFC training environment. Outstanding and highly motivated players may be invited to participate in future training sessions or programs within Union City Football Club.

  • Parents are welcome to observe from the designated spectator areas while sessions are conducted by our coaching staff.
